On what grounds did you decide that a certain Shaaban song was only popular among the "middle and lower classes" ?! So what do the "upper classes" do when they're in a particularily anti-Israeli mood ?

Hannah please come back and save us from the poor punctiation, hideous grammar, bizzare spelling and classist drivel.

I decided Shaaban's songs are more popular among certain social circles on the grounds that I live in Egypt and I know what goes on. People who enjoy a more luxurious lifestyle have the privilege of a better edcuation and don't build their perception of international politics from superficial pop songs.
As for the class system, i didn't invent it, and unfortunately, it does exist in Egypt. As for my "hideous" writing style, i guess you'll have to put up with it until it improves, or Hannah comes back.

Hey! No more nastygrams, please. Miret is a young journalist with a lot of talent and drive, and I think she should be encouraged, not discouraged! She's been absolutely invaluable to our bureau. Miret, you've done a fabulous job keeping the blog afloat -- hope I can get back soon and hear Shaboula's new song!

Good point. And what do you think of, for example, Shoher's attitude like here http://samsonblinded.org/blog/shame-of-the-jdc.htm ?
