A busty debate about Gong Li
So actress Gong Li’s bared flesh is causing a buzz in China, or that’s what the media would have us believe.
Gong Li is the star of the new film by China’s best-known director, Zhang Yimou, who made Hero and House of Flying Daggers as well as the classic Raise the Red Lantern.
Seems that at 41, and fresh from Miami Vice, Gong Li almost falls out of her dress in the new film, Curse of the Golden Flower.
Even the state Xinhua news agency noted, “The most eye-popping role is played by Gong Li, the empress, whose breasts are so tightly wrapped that they appear ready to pop out of her costume.”
Check out the photos here and here. Doesn’t this seem rather tame? My hunch is that this “controversy” was drummed up just to pique public interest in the movie. After all, it cost $44.6 million to make.

One of the links to more pictures is not working, not that I would know that.

The woman is gorgeous. Period. No wonder it made a ton of money in China.

Kind of a ridiculous brouhaha when compared to beauties as Sophia Loren, Gina Lollabrigida and others. That having been said, Gong Li is certainly fetching.

I think Gong Li is one of the top 5 sexiest women (Selma Hayek, Halle Berry, Michelle Yeow, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Gong Li). This movie and "Memoirs of a Geisha" were awesome to watch.
