Trampled at the railway station
If you want to see just how difficult the situation is outside rail stations with the storms that have lashed China, watch this video. It’s eight minutes long. But you’ll see scenes you won’t see on the television news.
I don’t know where this video was taken – only that it is in southern China.

Clearly the police were overwhelmed with crowd control and the simple problem of providing shelter, food, drink, sanitary facilities to the crowd that appeared to have peaked at about 800,000.
Why didn't other parts of China send in assistance --- in the form of police, PLA troops, shelter (tents), portable toilets, food, etc.?
