Huckabee apologizes to Romney
Mike Huckabee went to Mitt Romney after today's Iowa presidential debate to apologize for comments made in a magazine interview that appeared to challenge Romney's Mormon religion.
"After the debate, I went to Mitt Romney and apologized," Huckabee said in the spin room after the debate.
He said he told Romney he didn't think his religion should be a reason for someone to vote for him, or against him.
"He was gracious. I hope he knows I was sincere," Huckabee said.
The former Arkansas governor and frontunner in Iowa also said he's growing more careful now that he's drawing more attention.
"I'm being much more cautious because every word is being parsed."
But he also said he was "delighted" with the scrutiny because it confirms his new status.
