Black women at the White House

The Rev. Jeremiah Wright is proving every day that he doesn't need to be Barack Obama's pastor to be controversial.

For example, during one of two sermons he delivered Sunday morning at Dallas' Friendship-West Baptist Church, Wright used decidedly un-presidential imagery to describe what Obama would have accomplished were he to win the presidency.

According to the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, Wright was listing the accomplishments that a black man can achieve if he stands up for himself, such as being the first African-American to edit the Harvard Law Review and the first to win the Iowa Democratic caucus. Then came the presidency.

"You can be ... the first black man to have a black woman sleeping at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue legally," Wright said.

No reaction from Obama.

Obama, however, did discount race as a factor in his recent Pennsylvania defeat. Speaking on Fox News Sunday, Obama said he believes he'll be able to win over white working-class voters in the general election campaign.

"Is race still a factor in our society? Yes. I don't think anybody would deny that," Obama said. "Is that going to be the determining factor in a general election? No, because I'm absolutely confident that the American people -- what they're looking for is somebody who can solve their problems."

I understand what Wright is saying, to me he's putting this behind him. I'm like Barack no comments. The media need to leave this alone because Rev. Wright isn't runnung for president. Let Barack do his thing, he doesn't need any help, and race is a factor in this race. I pray and I'm sure everybody else is praying for Barack and his family and team safety. As well as Hillary and team too. We as Americans should want change. Even though both candiates throwing negatives, Hillary is writng tha playbook for McCain.

What does HRC have to do with this? Wright and Obama...they say what they say and do what they do. They are both, like you, looking for any escape from their own actions..and..HRC has nothing to do with this and their past comments and rhetoric.
You might want to reexamine your own belief where BO is concerned. He is not what you wish him to be.

The bigots who claim to have taken their vote away from Obama after Rev.Wrights speech’s are LIARS whom had no intention on voting for a Black person to begin with. Remember people like this didn't like what Martin Luther King Jr. had to say either.

Clinton can tell a BOLD face lie about running from bombs and Clinton supporters(including the media) turn their head as if she were lying about her age.

How many white Americans are associated with a KKK member, skin head or someone who tells racist jokes at the water cooler or in their own living room???? Please evaluate your own actions and words before you dare to make this an issue of hatred(by the way what speech was Anderson Cooper watching yesterday??). The media is sadly enough doing a great job at diverting attention. Let's keep our focus on the candidates and this issues important to the American people.

I am a democrat and i am black.I dont make my choice based on color.Barack Obama lacks the maturity to address the complicated mess created by Geoges w.Bush.I found Obama to be a demagogue .He is saying things with eloquence and is abusing the emotions of the blacks. Most of his speeches are model on church preaching.
