Boehner lauds Kennedy's work on Catholic schools

Rep. John Boehner of Ohio, the House Republican leader, joined the bipartisan chorus of praise for Sen. Edward Kennedy Tuesday evening, singling out his work on education.

His statement:

“My family’s thoughts and prayers are with Sen. Kennedy and his family during this difficult time.  While we may not always agree on every issue, Sen. Kennedy and I share the belief that every child – not just those from wealthy and middle-class families – deserves a high-quality education.  He is a true friend and a partner in our work to help close the achievement gap in our classrooms and support Catholic grade schools in inner city Washington.  I join my colleagues on Capitol Hill and the Senator’s friends around the world in praying for his full and speedy recovery.”
