Bush's Knesset remarks help Obama a bit

President Bush may have helped Barack Obama at Israel's Knesset after all.

A study of 304 Democrats, Republicans and independents, conducted May 16 to 18, found the Illinois senator's support went up slightly after those surveyed watched parts of his response to Bush's remarks.

The president detonated a political firestorm last week in Israel, when he compared some of his U.S. political opponents to Nazi appeasers. Though he did not cite Obama, the Democratic frontrunner took the criticism personally and fired back.

The study by HCD Research and the Muhlenberg College Institute of Public Opinion found that among its survey participants, Obama gained 5 percentage points among Democrats and 2 among Republicans.
