"Sweet Caroline" to shape Obama's vp pick
President Kennedy’s daughter, Caroline Kennedy Schlossberg, will help Barack Obama choose a running mate, a spokeswoman for the apparent Democratic presidential nominee said.
Schlossberg was one of two new names announced Wednesday as managers of Obama’s budding vice presidential search committee, joining Jim Johnson, a Washington insider who led the vice presidential search for Democratic nominee Sen. John Kerry, D-Mass., in 2004. The other is Eric Holder, a former deputy attorney general under Janet Reno during Bill Clinton’s presidency, said campaign spokeswoman Linda Douglass. Holder became an unpaid adviser to the Obama campaign last year. He is African-American.
Any chance Obama is considering Schlossberg for the actual vp job? She has long stayed out of the political spotlight. But her endorsement of Obama onstage at American University in Washington back in January along with her ailing uncle, Sen. Ted Kennedy, D-Mass., was dramatic and well received. And, remember, Dick Cheney was tapped to lead George Bush’s vice presidential search – before Bush decided he wanted Cheney as his running mate. Incidentally, the search committee leader, Johnson, happens to be a past chairman of the Kennedy Center.
As an Obama supporter, I have to admit that the question of Caoline as a VP had not occurred to me. Definitely food for thought!

I had not thought of her either,Caroline, but I agree it is food for thought a lot of thought.I think Senator Obama may have talks with his mentor Senator Kennedy or maybe Caroline already has.

It wouldn't be unusual, after all she is a Kennedy. I'm sure a lot of thought and even prayers will be given in who ever they decide for the running mate.
