After four years of liberation we've got a lot of things and we've realized a lot of achievements like:
We don't like the government which we've elected and it's obvious that we regret voting for it.
We started feeling ashamed of saying that we are Muslims because of all of the continuous crimes that have contorted true Islam.
But the world needs to know that the Iraqi Muslims are not behind these crimes as we have been living together for hundreds of years and we haven't witnessed this kind of sectarian and racist issues.
We mustn't forget the freedom and the respect that we've gained as individuals from the Iraqi leaders and the leaders of other countries.
The President of Iraq has left to the United States of America for medical treatment while my wife has cancer and I can't take her even to Syria for treatment like many other Iraqis do.
The Chairman of the United Iraqi Alliance made a trip to the United States of America to undergo medical treatment for his cancer; but he didn't like their hospitality so he made his decision to go to his mother's country (Iran) at least they will treat him better; but still, the choice is his to go anywhere because he's "the man" in Iraq, but my wife like so many other women do not have the choice, because they are not the "madams".
The Deputy Prime Minister is the bravest. When he was injured during an assassination attempt, the government took him immediately to the green zone hospital (which is under the American doctors' supervision). Then, he flew to Jordan for medical treatment. So, as he is a leader in the Iraqi government, they took care of him but it doesn't matter if other Iraqis are injured by an IED or VBIED (car bomb), understandably ….there are a lot of Iraqi's but there is only one PM deputy.
No country gives Iraqis entrance visas; not even Arab or any foreign country when Iraqis apply for it; why?
They say (YOU GUYS ARE HAPPY ENOUGH IN YOUR COUNTRY. YOU WILL FEEL BORED IN OUR COUNTRY, AND WE DON'T WANT TO BOTHER YOU). They show us much more respect than we expect. They don't even search us because they don't allow us to enter their border in the first place.
What respect we are shown !!!!!
From this equation we have discovered that the government doesn't serve anyone but itself no matter what.
But my main question is, if the Americans claim that they came here to save us, the poor oppressed Iraqi people, why then, are they allowing this government of corruption to rule us till this very moment? Do they like the way they work? Or are they bored and tired of us, their pet project already, and say to themselves "WHAT EVER" ? !.
Why don't they just do something???

wow, perry, way to show compassion... first we "free" them and then we blame them?
this is not a place for trolls or to rub salt in wounds. we are all hurting, you included. (i know what it's like to be disillusioned by my government, it hurts like a mofo.) we've all been lied to and bullied. please don't take it out on the next weakest in line. if you can't face what your decisions have wrought, go back to american idol until you can. but don't punish the victims of our bombs and our torture with your idiocy too.

You are absolutely right about the countries of the world not giving Iraqis entrance visas. All the countries of the world need to do more and certainly the countries bordering Iraq, like Saudi Arabia, Kuwait and Iran. Don't be fooled by your leader who went to Iran for cancer treatment. He went to the best cancer facility in the world for a diagnosis. He chose to go to Iran for treatment, because he wanted to be near his family. I don't think it's the rosy picture the Iranians are making it out to be about his lung cancer treatment. I wouldn't look for him to return to Iraq. If it makes you feel any better about your situation, lots and lots of Americans can't get medical treatment either. Michael Moore just did a new movie on this topic called "Sicko." Our healthcare system is seriously broken. I wish there was something I could do for you and your family that would help. This whole Bush fiasco makes me so angry!

It would be far less crazy-making if those engaged in this massive exploitation/occupation process would stop saying they're supporting freedom.
And it will be a fair day on earth when we finally stop demonizing whole groups of people and start holding individuals accountable for the evil they do.
I am so sorry to hear about your wife, Wissam. Is there something we can do?
Also, I would be grateful for more McClatchy articles about life in Iraq. About what is involved in, say, going to the hospital or getting enough gas for the week, or how one manages feeding a family when you work and have no refrigeration....Your posts mention these in brief, but a news article would get across to more people. People with limited imaginations don't picture what is happening to folks. Please, writers, can you tell us more?
Finally, dear InsideIraq readers: PLEASE post comments. And please inform others about this site and about the McClatchy stories...Until enough minds and hearts are opened to what life is like in Iraq, I don't think we'll see enough action to bring peace.

"But the world needs to know that the Iraqi Muslims are not behind these crimes"
They're obviously under satellite mind control, with Bush sitting at the control panel. Which explains why Bush gets blamed every time an Iraqi blows up a market.
"if the Americans claim that they came here to save us, the poor oppressed Iraqi people, why then, are they allowing this government of corruption to rule us till this very moment?"
Because you elected them. You'll get another chance in '09. The U.S. can't say it wants democracy for Iraqi's and then sack the government they chose.
