Liars

Many Iraqis went abroad during the last five years for variety reasons having the sectarian violence on top motivations. I have relatives and friends who did so who made Sweden and Holland as their final destinations, but when I heard some of their excuses to settle in I was shocked.

First, Iraqis should prove that they are Iraqis by the IDs they should have due to the competitions they have from other Arabs who claim to be Iraqis to have the visa to be in these countries. The violence factor is the main issue that Iraqis tell to pass through these countries and settle in. The matter till now is ordinary as suffering from the sectarian violence is too much for them in addition to that of leaving everything behind; their country, families, beloved people and friends to settle down in a foreign country. But lying and counterfeiting facts just to be used by Iraqis to have the green light to settle there are so bad to be done.

I am too upset from those who are telling lies of what is really going in Iraq . These lies make these countries have wrong idea of what is really in due to the fake information they had got from Iraqis themselves, for just simple reason is to be in that foreign country and to hell Iraq ’s reputation and Iraqis in their country.

I will tell a story of a friend who is in Sweden who had the residency card by a lie he had made. He is a Shiite but he claimed that he is a Sunni and the Mahdi army threatened him and his family to leave the Shiite neighborhood he used to live giving him hours otherwise the whole family would be killed. As a result of this lie, this man had got a warning from his wife to get divorce if he doesn’t tell the Swedish authorities the whole truth that he is a Shiite Iraqi who left Iraq to live his life as it is a disaster to live there for all Iraqis whether he is a Sunni or a Shiite.

He was telling that these countries won’t accept Shiite people in their countries as the government who rule the country is Shiite having no persecution against them while Sunni people are persecuted by the government and militia groups! I told him at that moment if you say so why you had left the country if you are a Shiite yourself. He said that the information they had got is untrue. The Shiite are also the victims of the sectarian violence for the last five years who are more than other sects in the Iraqi society.

I just told him that they had this fault information of what is really going on because of you and your match who are selfish thinking of themselves only while they are careless of Iraqis from all sects whether those who are in Iraq or those who are forced to leave it having their reasons to do so. Those people lie to be abroad, but these lies effect negatively on Iraq . That thing just gave me a light of the bad impression of the Iraqis and Shiite in particular in some Arab and European countries due to those who transfer fault information having their benefits in mind only.

These people as you say end up in foreign and mostly racist countries. Governments are very skeptical already and use EVERY excuse available to EXPEL them back to Iraq.

So YOUR countrymen end up alone in the streets, barely surviving, hated by most, helped by a very few, and when they have to tell their story, you're worried that maybe your country's reputation will be tarnished ???
