More readers ....More responsibilities
Yesterday our office in Baghdad received a message from the UK's Channel 4 news online coverage, part of the of the ITN network, informing us that we are included in their list of "10 Iraqi bloggers you should read" as a part of their "Happy Birthday Iraq" articles.
We are so happy to have more audience and readers from ITN in addition to those of McClatchy and Yahoo who already read our blogs. The happiness of mine is even greater because I used to work with ITV Ch3 for more than 3 years until they closed their bureau in Baghdad in 2006.
So the name ITN is familiar for me and I hope to have our blogs telling their readers wherever they are what is really going in Iraq. Our acting bureau chief was joking with us today saying "You have to be more English in your spelling especially for our new readers." I will have to spell "center" with "re."

Your writings are very important because people in the United States can barely imagine what our invasion has done to your country. Please keep telling us your true stories from your many points of view.

Although I don't comment, I've been a regular reader for a long time. I'm sure there are very many other silent readers who like me are very grateful for your first-hand accounts.

Congratulations! I look forward to your colourful writing! Also, you folks are recommended and linked by Iraqiblogcount, too, and frequently cited by Juan Cole, WarNews and IraqCasualtyCount. I know in the day to day grind it may feel that you're a voice in the wilderness, but please know, despite the few comments you get, that many many people are reading you. Thanks for all you do.
