Questioning the minister of trade was a real big and new event for Iraqis who used to see the corrupt officials always abroad.During the last two week, the story of corruption was the main story of all Iraqis. The corruption in the Iraqi governmental departments dominated the conversations of all Iraqis. Some Iraqis started giving suggestions and solutions about fighting corruption.
On Saturday morning, The Iraqi security authorities of Baghdad airport ordered the pilot of an airplane which was flying to UAE to return back to Iraq. A member of the integrity committee in the Iraqi parliament said that the former minister of trade was on the flight to UAE and he was detained by the security authorities according to an arrest warrant issued by an iraqi court in Muthanna province for corruption cases.
Dreams of starting new round of fighting corruption was about to evaporate but the news of today gave new hope that we can walk the path of correction although its so long and hard.
