Do mental wounds qualify for a Purple Heart?

With more troops coming home with mental problems, some feel the Purple Heart should be awarded. Others feel that it should be restricted to physical wounds. {Wall Street Journal]

Personally, I think the comment by Bohdan Szejner, Rome,Italy, is the best answer one could have, as it fits the question quite well.

It depends whether there is a direct correlation between mental disease and the battlefield action. Some people get ill fighting the Nation's enemy. Others get ill to avoid the fight!
